Week 5 EOC: Social Networks and Job Hunting

first off I’d like to say I have used most of the sites such as monster, craigslist, etc. but I have never used facebook. Now this is an intriguing concept that I have never even thought about happening. But really in reality I want to say why I didn’t think of that before. I’ve got to say this is pure genius from Facebook’s part. Everything makes sense when you’re talking about social networking and everyone looking to be hired. Why not put those two concepts together. Now with applications and the convenience to apply and search on the palm of your hand makes everything more worth wild. In my opinion the reason our young generation today do not have jobs is because they are too busy with all these new gadgets and such and are so occupied that they don’t have the passion or motivation to get up and look for a job. I’ve come to realized growing up having to support my family with a job that I don’t have to actually get up and get dressed and try and present myself to a company just to apply for a job. Nowadays you can go online and click away at your own convenience. With Facebook as big as it is, it should catch the eye of everyone on it because EVERYONE IS ON IT. For Facebook to beat out such big companies such as LinkedIn tells me that their marketing plan is on the rising.

-“Facebook is making a dent.”
-“Candidates have been 50% more likely to apply to positions they found through Facebook than through other
Means”

WEEK 4 EOC: Consumer and Marketing businesses

-“The biggest strategy difference between the two types of marketing is touting the benefits for your business client, while also touting the benefits for your business client's customer.” http://ezinearticles.com/?Business-Marketing-Versus-Consumer-Marketing&id=1418305
Consumer marketing and business marketing is very much similar to one another but they can have slightly different bumps.  When you are talking about consumer marketing you are targeting a certain target. The decision making has been thought out and the company is going after that. But when you are talking about business marketing you are targeting the market at a whole different picture. Where you just don’t stop at the consumer but where else can we evolve and grow from here. Thinking about the bigger picture, who can we branch out too? And have a wide range of business. In business marketing there are many variety of decision making that goes on. This needs to build relationships with other markets to go on and so on and so forth. The repercussions from business marketing are that it can take a lot out of you. I am talking about emotionally and financially. It does not cost the same as consumer marketing because we have to supply and demand at all costs.
-“strategies need to be developed based on the needs, wants and buying processes of the particular market.” http://toolkit.smallbiz.nsw.gov.au/part/1/1/5
-“Unlike the consumer marketing, the promotion in business marketing does not involve any media advertisements. Instead, it uses magazines, business newspapers, and direct mails to the concerned buyer companies or organizations.” http://www.strategicbusinessteam.com/small-business-marketing-strategy/business-to-business-vs-business-to-consumer-marketing-what%E2%80%99s-the-difference/

Week 3 EOC: My Demographics

-“One thing that all of the Millennials have in common is their utter fluency and comfort with digital technology. They don’t just embrace technology, it’s a way of life. The Millennials were the first generation to grow up in a world filled with computers, cellphones, satellite TV, iPods, and online social networks”

My demographic is millennial born 1986. After reading a few articles during my research I would have to agree for the most part of what exactly the millennial generation is all about. Reason being is when I read about technology is suppose to change everything and the world is going to be a bit more convenient than the past, I do agree with that part but not the part where we as millennials were meant to go to school and make great of yourself. In my opinion school nowadays comes second for the most part. From the 80’s and 90’s it was all school and then came the 20th century. Things got a little more difficult as the economy went south and education became more as a choice such as the the 70’s. Similar to when kids had to grow up fast and become a working individual. I believe it is important going forward with the millennial generation because we are the leader of the new school. We are came from the more important transition from the when technology had finally showed its face to the public with the iphones and computers and so forth. As we got older with these types of gadgets we are now teaching the boomers how to handle them. It’s funny how time has reversed itself.

Week 3 EOC: Making Money for Good

Today I want to talk about “Jack’s Soap”. Jack’s Soap is a company that provides a high quality soap with all natural blends that creates a one of a kind scent on your healthy skin. For every soap that is sold, a bar of soap is donated to a child. According to World Health Organization and UNICEF, more than 5,000 children die every day because of diseases caused by not washing their hands. Bridget Hilton is the founder of Jack’s soap. Bridget has done thorough research with scientists to put intact something to help fight diseases in every way possible and this is a start up solution. Jack’s soap are approved by PETA and is included in their cruelty free shopping guide. Meaning the company does not test the product on animals. Jack’s are doing more than just giving soap away; they are helping the hygiene of individuals as well. Also educating the public about the health hazards that may occur from not keeping yourself bacteria free. Just doing something so simple can prevent having pneumonia, diarrhea, Cholera or even Typhoid. Out of all water diseases 45% can be prevented by simply washing your hands with soap.

- "who would of thought washing your hands can be so rewarding?"
- "Washing hands with soap is the most effective and inexpensive way to prevent spreading diseases"
- "It's true. Every time you buy Jack's Soap, a child in need receives one. "

WEEK 2 EOC: Boston Consulting Group - Video Games

I want to start off with talking about the "DOG." In this category i would put the WII and PSP in it. WII are from the Nintendo era and that's the era in which i grew up with. When Nintendo and Super Nintendo came out it was a hit but to the extent where you know that there were more that has to be coming out that was going to blow this console away. Those are the types of ideals that played a role when buying the "temporary" systems that were coming out. It was exciting and fun but the fun stops faster than you know it. Cash cow are your recent todays game such as PS3 and Xbox 360. They are making the most money right now and slowly fading from the spotlight. Made lots of money and shifting the audience into the next big money maker. Hand held devices would go under the Question mark or the unknown. It has its advantages but seems to lack certain qualities that can make it more exciting. more of an inconsistent device. It has highs and it has it's lows. Last is the "Star", which is pretty obvious in my opinion is the Apple Iphones and Ipads. these devices are booming today and is only going forward. Its multiple tasks that allows games and internet and the use of a dialing phone does it all. The more convenient the profitable!!

WEEK 1: Great customer service

The best customer service that I ever received was when my friend and I had gone to a Thai restaurant in the Aria hotel called Lemongrass. First the hostess sat us down and greeted us with menus and a smile.  Next, there was a bus person that came and our drink orders right away so we did not have to wait very long. When the waiter had come around we were all set up with cocktail drinks and our order. Great meal and great service and I couldn’t’ remember a time when my glass of water was ever empty as much as I drank it during my meal.  Another thing during the meal was that my noodles were cold so I had ask the waiter to make it warmer for me he said I have a better idea, i’ll have the chef make you another one. Of course I was ecstatic though I had to wait a little bit longer I was satisfied with having my cocktails and my friend to keep me company until my food had come out. After my noodles came out it was hot and steamy like it should be and on top of that I had the meal comped by the manager himself. So in conclusion my meal was fantastic. I definitely go back more than once today and I even tipped the waiter out over 30 percent. This goes to show you that a few places are willing to go above and beyond just to satisfy one customer because in most cases that is all it takes for a company to have a good name or a bad name. Word of mouth from a few people can make you or break you as a company. It goes to show that customer’s satisfaction is as important as just having good food.
-"understanding buying behavior is an essential but very difficult task"

my voice

Hi my name is Allofs Khamvongsa. I am an Audio Engineer currently living in Las Vegas Nevada formerly from Modesto California. Growing up I’ve always wanted to be a part of something that I love and that everyone loves as well. So I decided to be involved music. Through the years music has had its transformation in movies, theaters, shows, production in general. I felt the need to be a part of something where I can make a difference and be creative with it. Sound engineering is not just about putting sound together and making music. It takes precision and decision making to master an art that not everyone can do. My influence came to me when I started listening to music production in the 1990’s. My style and persona I believe comes from the era of the mid and late 90’s. I understood what it meant to have nothing and watch it grow into a whole new thing and that’s what caught my eye. When I can enjoy working in the studio for a project and forget that this is my career it gives me a good feeling deep inside. Everyone should pursue a career that satisfies them and not a career that makes you think about just the paycheck.
