EOC WEEK 9: THREE GREAT MISSION STATEMENTS

http://jquik.blogspot.com/ I believe this mission statement is a good one because as you read it you can tell that the writer is targeting the adults that enjoy a snack while having an alcoholic beverage. It also mentions all flavors around the world so if a person is curious about different varieties from different parts of the world. Last is the part when the writer mentions about instant ice breakers. We all know everyone loves an ice breaker especially somewhere people like to socialize such as a bar with a snack, very good. http://marketingjess.blogspot.com/  this mission statement is strong in a few areas. First is the product quality and that alone is strong to get customers interested. Another part is “unpeeled potatoes,” when I hear this, it tells me either they take time to peel they’re own potatoes or they get them already peeled which would catch the eyes of many also. Overall could have had a little more to offer but good enough to sell. http://vegasvicphoto.blogspot.com/  the main reason I actually enjoy and like this mission statement is because it is catchy. When you have statement that can catch the eye of your audience with a few words or word you have something special. It also mentions that this is a snack that one can enjoy during a game on television while having alcohol. Last the part where it says it will be stuck on your mind the whole time, that is literally what it is all about.

WEEK 8 EOC: CREATIVE CONTENT

My creative content that I had in mind was going to be a picture/ commercial. Very undecided at the moment but I am leaning towards script writing a commercial of my snack. The logo I will go online and determine what I can get between dry seaweed and a delicious crab. My character theme will be of a stoner guy just because the product has the word “weed” in it. But may I add a stoner with a purpose on his mind. This is to try to go with a product that everyone knows of and what is popular in the seafood world. So I figure to put two and two together and go with it. The package will be in a cigarette like carton. I was at first going with a different approach but I figure since the snack is stick like, let’s go with smoking sticks. Keep I mind this a snack that is going to look like a “joint”. It is a bout 3-4 inches long and is dark green because of the seaweed. I know I am an audio major but I feel more comfortable doing a commercial with script writing because I feel this is a perfect way to market my product. Through audio is a bit more difficult and I’ll keep that for other ideas in the future. Also with commercial scripts you can be more creative in my opinion. This will get people thinking more about the crab weed simply because it is a more visual concept compared to listening or imagining. “What you see is what YOU will get.”

WEEK 7 EOC: THE PITCH

I Phileas Fogg, had arrived in the harbors of Korea enjoying the view and the smell on my boat off of the pier.  As my hunger continues to grow stronger and the sea creatures start to come out, the only thing on my mind was “SEAFOOD!” So I told a few friends of mine come join me and enjoy on the crunchiness and satisfying taste of CRAB FLAVORED STICK CHIPS WITH DRY WRAPPED SEAWEED. Why settle for just fish in the water when one can infuse a finer taste in crab?! It’s not just crab; it’s the best a water creature has to offer. Why deal with the shell of a crab when you can chew right through the crispiness of the flavored skinny stick chips wrapped in dry salted seaweed. No scales, no fillets and no bones, makes a perfect meal for anyone. You’ve got saltiness and red pepper flakes sprinkled around it for splash of spice. Need I mention seaweed is filled with myriad minerals, iodine, calcium and is rich in dietary fiber. packaging will be similiar to a cigarette carton. Total cost will be $4.99 a box.

IMPLEMENTATION OF EVALUATION CONTROL

PRICE

For the price I am going with $4.99 a box. the reason for this being there are 30 crabby sticks in a box. For this price you get 30 delicious bites for this little amount of value is the perfect deal. Not too expensive and not too low.

PROMOTION

promotion will involve cowboys. this being the case is because cowboys smoke all the time and crabby sticks are perfect. when you watch old western movies you always see cowboys smoking and it's okay. not to promote smoking but i am trying to make the product catchy. this is a perfect way to get peoples attention and have fun with the product. also this does to harm so this might take away from people actually smoking a real cigarette by subbing it with crabby seaweed sticks.

DISTRIBUTION

just like any other snack out there i will be distributing to bars mostly at the local areas of a city just because locals get the regulars that are loyal. loyal customers come back and they spread the word out faster especially to the community that they live in. another place that can be distributed out to is to big food companies such as SYSCO which is a huge manufacturing company all around the world.

PRODUCT

Crab flavored stick snack wrapped with dry seaweed seasoned with red pepper flakes. It is in cigarette sizes and comes in a 30 pack box. product name is "CRABBY WEED." it is meant to mildly spice up your taste buds and enjoy the infused flavor of the crab and seaweed all in one.

TARGET MARKETING STRATEGY

we will target the low/middle class for the product. first thing, it does not cost that much and reason for this is because when you are going to a bar, most people tend to eat and drink at the same time. it becomes a natural way for conversational encounters today. mostly men will be targeted for the most part only because they're are more men that go to bars and enjoy a snack while watching the games on television or just simply enjoying social encounters.

SITUATION OR SWOT ANALYSIS

the strengths of my product are that it's convenient for customers to get their hands on and grab a bite without any cracking or sauce involved. crabby sticks are catchy and easy to remember possibly for recommendations for family and friends. it has saltiness, crunchiness and spiciness are in one stick. weaknesses i have to bring up is the fact that it has seafood in the product and people are allergic to seafood cannot eat the snack. that will be a problem that will come along and the only answer to that is if a person cannot eat the crab stick they can peel off the seaweed and just eat that separately. the seaweed is just wrapped around the stick but is removable. the opportunities that can come out of this is to lesson the sticks in the box and keep the same price. another way is to shorten the sticks to save product waste. threats that can occur from this is from associations that go against smoking and lung cancer societies. this can easily be approached in a way that my product is promoting smoking. i can see this being a huge problem. this is why the seaweed is not attached permanently, it is removable for such reasons that it does not look like a smoking product.

OBJECTIVES

my objective for the "crabby weed sticks" are to have fun with the product. imitating cigarettes is a way to get customers into a habit. Not anything in a negative way but putting a stick in your mouth seems "cool" to people especially when you are enjoying a cold nice brew. i remember growing up with the gum cigarettes as a kid and at the time it was just the cool thing to do. products like these gets to the customers because as your drinking, who doesn't want a smoke? it's a natural habit for people who go out to bars have while having an alcoholic beverage.

BUSINESS MISSION STATMENT

We want to provide you with the wonderful world of spicy but delightful taste of a seaweed snack with a twist. Experience the crunch and spicy infused flavor of Deep crab flavored stick chips with wrapped salted seaweed. Just grab and bite with no cracking or peeling, just simply eat. http://digitalbookshelf.artinstitutes.edu/#/books/9780558851903/content/element/4452?locs[]=48-7&locs[]=85-7&locs[]=289-7&locs[]=483-7&locs[]=551-7&locs[]=559-9&q=mission+statement mission statements should be meaningful and specific yet motivating. They should emphasize the company’s strengths in the marketplace.”

WEEK 8 BOC: THE ADVENTURE

I Phileas Fogg, had arrived in the harbors of Korea enjoying the view and the smell on my boat off of the pier.  As my hunger continues to grow stronger and the sea creatures start to come out, the only thing on my mind was “SEAFOOD!” So I told a few friends of mine come join me and enjoy on the crunchiness and satisfying taste of CRAB LEGS WITH DRY WRAPPED SEAWEED. Why settle for just fish in the water when one can infuse a finer taste in crab?! It’s not just crab; it’s the best a water creature has to offer. Why deal with the body of a crab when you can chew right through the crispiness of the shell legs with juicy meat waiting inside of it. No scales, no fillets and no bones, makes a perfect meal for anyone. You’ve got saltiness, seasoned with paprika, deep fried garlic, oregano and red pepper flakes. Need I mention seaweed is filled with myriad minerals, iodine, calcium and is rich in dietary fiber. “Crab weed” it’s easy, it’s crunchy, salty and it’s the real chicken of the sea. Crab weed is taking bar snacks to a whole new level. Don’t waste your time hurry up and go get it!

Week 6 EOC: ME x 3

http://www.synthtopia.com/content/2004/01/29/korg-microkontrol-37-key-usb-controller-keyboard/
-  MY "Korg" KEYBOARD defines me a fan of music. I can listen to music when I'm sad happy angry etc. The point is it never gets old and I am currently making music my career by becoming involved with audio production. this piece of equipment is the reason I am pursuing this occupancy. When i first got my hands on one my creativity came out and it created a new perspective for me. It told me "you can do this as a career if you enjoy it so much." So I am pursuing what I learned growing because I enjoy it and I am good at it.

- MY GOLD BUDDHA NECKLACE holds great meaning to me. I wear it all the time and it never comes off my neck. I am Buddhist to begin with and wearing this piece of religious jewelry lets me know where I come from, where my whole family comes from and most importantly my blood comes from. Laos is a small country and just to represent it with a passion lets me know that my people even though small in number we stand tall as a culture and I cannot forget about it just because I was born an American citizen. Raise by my grandma earlier in my life she taught me what it means to be a minority as a religion and a culture that needs to be more understood in America and all over the world.

-MY BEATS LAPTOP gives me the sources I need to communicate with friends, provides internet, holds my music and make music from it through my software's. This is the age technology that gives opportunity to an individual to express their thoughts through making music. we don't have to be at the studio to make great music anymore. It starts at the small screen in your little living room. It allows me to also keep up with school and emails which is very important because I have messages coming in all day long. I am always on the go so I need a mobile device. Lastly school is all online today. without this it would be very difficult to keep up with the world with the fast new technology coming out. nobody has to like it but we sure have to know and understand how to use these devices.

Week 5 EOC: Social Networks and Job Hunting

first off I’d like to say I have used most of the sites such as monster, craigslist, etc. but I have never used facebook. Now this is an intriguing concept that I have never even thought about happening. But really in reality I want to say why I didn’t think of that before. I’ve got to say this is pure genius from Facebook’s part. Everything makes sense when you’re talking about social networking and everyone looking to be hired. Why not put those two concepts together. Now with applications and the convenience to apply and search on the palm of your hand makes everything more worth wild. In my opinion the reason our young generation today do not have jobs is because they are too busy with all these new gadgets and such and are so occupied that they don’t have the passion or motivation to get up and look for a job. I’ve come to realized growing up having to support my family with a job that I don’t have to actually get up and get dressed and try and present myself to a company just to apply for a job. Nowadays you can go online and click away at your own convenience. With Facebook as big as it is, it should catch the eye of everyone on it because EVERYONE IS ON IT. For Facebook to beat out such big companies such as LinkedIn tells me that their marketing plan is on the rising.

-“Facebook is making a dent.”
-“Candidates have been 50% more likely to apply to positions they found through Facebook than through other
Means”

WEEK 4 EOC: Consumer and Marketing businesses

-“The biggest strategy difference between the two types of marketing is touting the benefits for your business client, while also touting the benefits for your business client's customer.” http://ezinearticles.com/?Business-Marketing-Versus-Consumer-Marketing&id=1418305
Consumer marketing and business marketing is very much similar to one another but they can have slightly different bumps.  When you are talking about consumer marketing you are targeting a certain target. The decision making has been thought out and the company is going after that. But when you are talking about business marketing you are targeting the market at a whole different picture. Where you just don’t stop at the consumer but where else can we evolve and grow from here. Thinking about the bigger picture, who can we branch out too? And have a wide range of business. In business marketing there are many variety of decision making that goes on. This needs to build relationships with other markets to go on and so on and so forth. The repercussions from business marketing are that it can take a lot out of you. I am talking about emotionally and financially. It does not cost the same as consumer marketing because we have to supply and demand at all costs.
-“strategies need to be developed based on the needs, wants and buying processes of the particular market.” http://toolkit.smallbiz.nsw.gov.au/part/1/1/5
-“Unlike the consumer marketing, the promotion in business marketing does not involve any media advertisements. Instead, it uses magazines, business newspapers, and direct mails to the concerned buyer companies or organizations.” http://www.strategicbusinessteam.com/small-business-marketing-strategy/business-to-business-vs-business-to-consumer-marketing-what%E2%80%99s-the-difference/

Week 3 EOC: My Demographics

-“One thing that all of the Millennials have in common is their utter fluency and comfort with digital technology. They don’t just embrace technology, it’s a way of life. The Millennials were the first generation to grow up in a world filled with computers, cellphones, satellite TV, iPods, and online social networks”

My demographic is millennial born 1986. After reading a few articles during my research I would have to agree for the most part of what exactly the millennial generation is all about. Reason being is when I read about technology is suppose to change everything and the world is going to be a bit more convenient than the past, I do agree with that part but not the part where we as millennials were meant to go to school and make great of yourself. In my opinion school nowadays comes second for the most part. From the 80’s and 90’s it was all school and then came the 20th century. Things got a little more difficult as the economy went south and education became more as a choice such as the the 70’s. Similar to when kids had to grow up fast and become a working individual. I believe it is important going forward with the millennial generation because we are the leader of the new school. We are came from the more important transition from the when technology had finally showed its face to the public with the iphones and computers and so forth. As we got older with these types of gadgets we are now teaching the boomers how to handle them. It’s funny how time has reversed itself.

Week 3 EOC: Making Money for Good

Today I want to talk about “Jack’s Soap”. Jack’s Soap is a company that provides a high quality soap with all natural blends that creates a one of a kind scent on your healthy skin. For every soap that is sold, a bar of soap is donated to a child. According to World Health Organization and UNICEF, more than 5,000 children die every day because of diseases caused by not washing their hands. Bridget Hilton is the founder of Jack’s soap. Bridget has done thorough research with scientists to put intact something to help fight diseases in every way possible and this is a start up solution. Jack’s soap are approved by PETA and is included in their cruelty free shopping guide. Meaning the company does not test the product on animals. Jack’s are doing more than just giving soap away; they are helping the hygiene of individuals as well. Also educating the public about the health hazards that may occur from not keeping yourself bacteria free. Just doing something so simple can prevent having pneumonia, diarrhea, Cholera or even Typhoid. Out of all water diseases 45% can be prevented by simply washing your hands with soap.

- "who would of thought washing your hands can be so rewarding?"
- "Washing hands with soap is the most effective and inexpensive way to prevent spreading diseases"
- "It's true. Every time you buy Jack's Soap, a child in need receives one. "

WEEK 2 EOC: Boston Consulting Group - Video Games

I want to start off with talking about the "DOG." In this category i would put the WII and PSP in it. WII are from the Nintendo era and that's the era in which i grew up with. When Nintendo and Super Nintendo came out it was a hit but to the extent where you know that there were more that has to be coming out that was going to blow this console away. Those are the types of ideals that played a role when buying the "temporary" systems that were coming out. It was exciting and fun but the fun stops faster than you know it. Cash cow are your recent todays game such as PS3 and Xbox 360. They are making the most money right now and slowly fading from the spotlight. Made lots of money and shifting the audience into the next big money maker. Hand held devices would go under the Question mark or the unknown. It has its advantages but seems to lack certain qualities that can make it more exciting. more of an inconsistent device. It has highs and it has it's lows. Last is the "Star", which is pretty obvious in my opinion is the Apple Iphones and Ipads. these devices are booming today and is only going forward. Its multiple tasks that allows games and internet and the use of a dialing phone does it all. The more convenient the profitable!!

WEEK 1: Great customer service

The best customer service that I ever received was when my friend and I had gone to a Thai restaurant in the Aria hotel called Lemongrass. First the hostess sat us down and greeted us with menus and a smile.  Next, there was a bus person that came and our drink orders right away so we did not have to wait very long. When the waiter had come around we were all set up with cocktail drinks and our order. Great meal and great service and I couldn’t’ remember a time when my glass of water was ever empty as much as I drank it during my meal.  Another thing during the meal was that my noodles were cold so I had ask the waiter to make it warmer for me he said I have a better idea, i’ll have the chef make you another one. Of course I was ecstatic though I had to wait a little bit longer I was satisfied with having my cocktails and my friend to keep me company until my food had come out. After my noodles came out it was hot and steamy like it should be and on top of that I had the meal comped by the manager himself. So in conclusion my meal was fantastic. I definitely go back more than once today and I even tipped the waiter out over 30 percent. This goes to show you that a few places are willing to go above and beyond just to satisfy one customer because in most cases that is all it takes for a company to have a good name or a bad name. Word of mouth from a few people can make you or break you as a company. It goes to show that customer’s satisfaction is as important as just having good food.
-"understanding buying behavior is an essential but very difficult task"

my voice

Hi my name is Allofs Khamvongsa. I am an Audio Engineer currently living in Las Vegas Nevada formerly from Modesto California. Growing up I’ve always wanted to be a part of something that I love and that everyone loves as well. So I decided to be involved music. Through the years music has had its transformation in movies, theaters, shows, production in general. I felt the need to be a part of something where I can make a difference and be creative with it. Sound engineering is not just about putting sound together and making music. It takes precision and decision making to master an art that not everyone can do. My influence came to me when I started listening to music production in the 1990’s. My style and persona I believe comes from the era of the mid and late 90’s. I understood what it meant to have nothing and watch it grow into a whole new thing and that’s what caught my eye. When I can enjoy working in the studio for a project and forget that this is my career it gives me a good feeling deep inside. Everyone should pursue a career that satisfies them and not a career that makes you think about just the paycheck.
